The Good Life...

The New Relics threw out the book on everything they knew and concentrated on the basics; the lyrics, the story, and a good driving beat. Those ideas took them to a realm of music that even they were surprised with the outcome. With more rock and alt-country influence, yet still retaining the introspective thoughts of Michael J. Arbogast's lyrics, The New Relics just deliver great music that everyone can enjoy and hum on their way home.

The New Relics won Three Rivers Productions' 2001 Acoustic Challenge. In the early years, the stipulation of judging only solo artists or duos had not yet been established. And with the amazing acoustic sound of each member in The New Relics, it was clear that this band has a sound that is unique.

With four CDs under their belt, Chasing Venus, Live at The Red Dog, Casting Stones and Hard Road, the band is establishing itself as one of the premiere bands on the east coast. Comparisons have been made to Pat McGee and John Mayer with the drive of Train and the laid back attitude of Pat Green and Kenny Chesney. TNR has created a vibe that is uniquely their own.

The New Relics have become a staple in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. "The band and audience continues to grow. We may play for hundreds of people, but we still love those small town bars, that is where you really make friends and fans." says bassist Josh Swiger.

The past year along has brought major regional success to the band. TNR was voted "The Best of West Virginia - Best Band" and "Best Live Act" by WV statewide music publication Graffiti Magazine. WVAQ 101.9FM ranked the band as the BEST UNSIGNED BAND. The band has been featured on regional TV program "In the Studio" were host Clint Morris praised the band as the shows best performance.
